If processing is necessary for the purposes of a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the Data Subject do not override the former interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing.
Data erasure and storage period:
The personal data of the Data Subject will be erased or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply. Storage may further take place when this is stipulated by the European or national legislator in regulations under Union law, laws or other rules that the controller is subject to. As far as external service providers come into any contact with your personal data, we have taken legal, technical and organisational measures and perform regular reviews to ensure that these also comply with applicable data protection rules.
Your personal data will not be commercially forwarded to any other companies.
Website optimisation tools
Within the context of collection of personal data through website optimisation tools, we refer to our legitimate interest as contemplated by Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, in conjunction with recital no. 47. According to this, direct marketing is usually a legitimate interest. Your interests, fundamental rights and freedoms do not override our interest in advertising, since we inform you comprehensively about data collection within the context of our data protection policy and you have the option of declaring your opt-out at any time (using a link or your browser settings). We also use only pseudonymised tracking.
Cookies
We use so-called cookies on our website. These are small text files that your internet browser places in the end device you use and that are stored there. A cookie will generally contain and compile no personal data concerning you or your use of the internet. Personal data can, however, be stored in cookies if you have consented to this or if this is absolutely necessary for technical reasons (e.g. in order to permit a protected login).
However, the cookies on your computer or the end device used by you may lead to services and contents adjusted specifically to your needs being provided when you visit a website – e.g. by remembering the products you have chosen or the settings you have made. However, only the cookie on your end device will be identified for this, and not your end device or you personally.
We use cookies in order to remember your selection and your settings, in order to improve usability by improving our websites and offering you contents that are optimised for your needs.
The cookies enable us to store, among others, the following items:
- Your browser settings, such as the browser type that you use and the plug-ins you have installed. This prevents us from asking you every time you visit our website whether you have the necessary software installed, e.g. in order to display videos or graphics that we provide on our websites.
- Your country and language selection. If you have chosen English as your preferred language once, it will be made your default language, to be used automatically for your next visit to our website.
- Your movements on our website and its use. We will not compile any personal data within the scope of this process, but only statistical data that contribute to optimisation of our website.
Some cookies will be valid until you end your browser session; others will be stored for an extended period.
How do I prevent cookies from being placed?
Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. You can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer or device by setting your browser to not accept cookies. Some browsers offer a special mode in which cookies are deleted every time you end your visit to a website. In Internet Explorer 8 and newer versions, this function is called “InPrivate Browsing”; Google Chrome Version 10 and up call it “Incognito”, Firefox Version 3.5 and up call it “Private Mode”; Safari Version 2 and up say “Private Browsing” and Opera Version 10.5 and up have named it “Private tab”.
For precise instructions on how to change your cookie settings, see the area “Help” of your browser. You can delete the cookies already stored on your computer or device at any time. You can also object to recording and forwarding of personal data or prevent processing of such data by deactivating the execution of JavaScript in your browser or installing a corresponding tool to prevent this.
If you do not want us to compile and analyse information about your visit via the use of cookies, you may object to this at any time, effective for the future (opt-out).
Technical implementation of this objection requires placement of an “opt-out cookie” in your internet browser. This cookie serves only to assign your objection. Please note that an opt-out cookie can only be used by the web browser that placed it for technical reasons. If you delete cookies or use any other web browser or other end device, you need to repeat the opt-out for it. If you decide to generally not accept any cookies, you may, of course, still visit and use our website; however, if cookies are deactivated, we cannot guarantee an optimal browsing experience to you, and it is possible that certain contents will not be available, and use is therefore limited.
We currently use the following third-party cookies:
DoubleClick
We also use DoubleClick, a service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, “Google”). DoubleClick uses cookies in order to place user-based advertisements. The cookies recognise which ad has already been shown in your browser and whether you called a website using a displayed ad. The cookies do not record any personal data and also cannot be connected to these.
If you do not wish this, you can prevent storage of the cookie required for these technologies, e.g. in the settings of your browser. In such a case, your visit will not be included in the user statistics. You may also select the types of Google ads or deactivate interest-based ads on Google in the ad settings. Alternatively, you may deactivate use of cookies by third-party providers by calling up the deactivation page of the network advertising initiative. However, we and Google continue to receive the statistical information on how many users visited the page when. If you do not want to be included in this statistic either, you may prevent this by using additional programs for your browser.
GA Audiences
On our website, data are collected and stored by GA Audiences, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”), to be used for the creation of pseudonymised user profiles concerning the users of our website. This way, we will display targeted advertisements on other external pages of the Google partner network to our visitors. For this, a cookie will be placed on your computer with which the user behaviour when visiting the website can be analysed and subsequently used for targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertisements. Placing the cookie will not lead to storage and processing of any personal data. If you do not want to receive interest-based advertisements, you may deactivate the use of cookies by following this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb#display_optout
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics from Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). According to the agreement between Google and officer for data protection and freedom of information in Hamburg, data-protection-compatible use of Google Analytics without objection is possible subject to certain conditions. In particular, note that this website has the IP masking function activated for Google Analytics by using the settings in the Google Tag Manager in order to ensure anonymous recording of IP addresses.
Please also note the following information on use of Google Analytics: Google Analytics uses cookies that are stored on your computer and that permit analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is usually transferred to a server of Google in the USA and stored there. Due to activation of IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be abbreviated first by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptions will your full IP address be transmitted to a server of Google in the USA and abbreviated there. On the behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, in order to compile reports on the website activities and to render further services connected to website use and internet use vis-à-vis the website operator.
The IP address transmitted by your browser within the context of Google Analytics will not be combined with any other data of Google. You may prevent saving of the cookies by making the corresponding settings in your browser software; however, note that you may be unable to fully use all functions of the website in such a case. You may furthermore prevent recording of the data generated by the cookie and referring to your use of the website (including your internet protocol address) and processing of these personal data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).
You may alternatively prevent recording by Google Analytics by clicking the following link: Deactivating Google Analytics. An opt-out cookie is set that will prevent the future recording of your personal data when visiting this website. The opt-out cookie applies only to this browser and only for this domain. You will need to click this link again if you delete your cookies in this browser.
For more detailed information on this, see https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html or https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en and the Privacy Policy of Google.
We use Google Analytics in order to evaluate the data collected through the DoubleClick cookie for statistical purposes. If you do not wish this, you can deactivate it under the following link: http://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/?hl=en
New Relic
We use a plug-in of the web analysis service of New Relic on this website. This enables statistical evaluations of the speed of the website. This service is operated by New Relic Inc., 188 Spear Street, Suite 1200 San Francisco, CA 94105, USA (“New Relic”).
If a user calls up a website of this offer that contains such a plug-in, his or her browser will establish a direct connection to the servers of New Relic. The provider therefore cannot influence the scope of data that New Relic collects using this plug-in, and therefore informs the users according to its state of knowledge:
Integration of the plug-ins will give New Relic the information that a user has called up the corresponding page the offer. If the user is logged in with New Relic, New Relic may assign the visit to his or her account at New Relic. If a user is not a member of New Relic, it is nevertheless possible that New Relic will learn of his or her IP address and store it.
Users can find the purpose and scope of data collection and further processing and use of the personal data by New Relic as well as the rights in this regard and setting options to protect the users’ privacy, in the Privacy Policy of New Relic: https://newrelic.com/privacy
If a user is a member of New Relic and does not want New Relic to compile any data concerning him or her via this offer and link them to his or her member data stored at New Relic, he or she must log out of New Relic before visiting the website.
eMarketeer
This website makes use of the marketing automation technology of eMarketeer, a service of eMarketeer AB, Kista Science Tower - 164 51 Kista, Sweden, in order to gather data on user behaviour. For this purpose, the eMarketeer web monitor stores a cookie on your computer. The cookie used by eMarketeer contains a random sequence of characters (e.g. EmarketeerPing = Z3PxJgEvkY7eb2ikUDkf) and as a matter of principle does not store any data which would make it possible to identify the user. When you visit our website, the eMarketeer tracker script sends a sequence of characters together with the URL of this website and details of the length of the visit and the website of origin to the server of eMarketeer, which is located in Sweden. If, whilst setting up a customer account on our website as a new customer, you have ticked the checkbox "Yes, I would like to receive Newsletters", then the details entered during registration will be forwarded to eMarketeer. If you do not tick the checkbox, then no personal data will be forwarded to eMarketeer. The data is gathered for marketing and optimisation purposes. The legal basis for this is Art. 6, para. 1, sentence 1, point f of the GDPR.
If you have already provided personal data to eMarketeer (name, e-mail address or other information), then the (above-mentioned) sequence of characters together with this URL will be added to your existing profile. This information will only be used by us to make available specific marketing information to the visitor. The information will be shared exclusively with eMarketeer who will store the data.
The gathering and storing of data can be prevented at any time by blocking the eMarketeer cookie in your browser settings.

In order to protect your privacy, we have implemented technical measures to ensure that your data cannot be recorded without your consent by the providers of the respective plug-in. When you call up a page in which the plug-ins are integrated, they will be deactivated at first. Only by clicking the respective icon will the plug-ins be activated, and you consent to having your data transferred to the respective provider.
After activation, the plug-ins will record personal data such as your IP address as well and send them to the servers of the respective provider, where they will be stored. This way, the providers can also compile profiles concerning your user behaviour. This is done even if you are not a member of the social network of the respective provider. If you are a member of the social network of the provider and you are logged in at the social network during your visit to this website, your data and information concerning the visit of this website can be linked to your profile on the social network.
